Systems for Processes

The Challenge

We hear it all the time - "We set Monthly/Quarterly/Annual Goals and they drive our activity."  We understand that sentiment.  But let's examine the realities about "Goals".

  • 92% of people who set goals fail to achieve them.
  • It's not that setting goals is a bad thing; it's just that if you rely on nothing more than than motivation and will power to achieve them, you've ignored the root problem of "How".
  • Successful goal achievement isn't driven by will power; rather it's driven by focus and behavior.  If you don't adapt your behavior (process) to be aligned with the goal you've set, you're doomed from the start.  Will power cannot overcome behavior.
  • If you want to track progress toward a goal you've set, don't track the portion of the goal achieved, track the consistency of the process that drives the goal.

The Solution

The objective here is to aid the behavior(s)/habit(s) that enable & simplify long-term process solutions for the outcomes you want.

  • Re-align your "goals" towards the underlying processes.
  • Make your behavior/habits/process change gradual enough to be achievable.
  • Establish Systems that empower the necessary processes.
  • Track process (behavior) not goal achievement.
